Firefighter

Join the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department as a Firefighter. Requires state certification in Florida as a firefighter and EMT or paramedic prior to application. The City of Jacksonville accepts firefighter applications year-round. Employment applications must be completed online through the Human Resources Division website with Certificate of Compliance and EMT/Paramedic Certificate attached.

Requirements: 18 years of age, high school diploma or GED equivalent, State of Florida Certificate of Compliance for Firefighter, CPAT certification, State of Florida EMT and/or Paramedic Certificate, valid Driver License, nonuser of tobacco or tobacco products, pass criminal background investigation, oral interview, medical evaluation, and psychological evaluation
