Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of FireJobs (“we,” “our,” or “us”), operated at firejobs.com. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use FireJobs.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.

2. Description of Service

FireJobs is a job board platform aggregating firefighter and fire service employment listings across the United States. We provide tools for job seekers to search, save, and receive alerts for positions, and offer premium features to subscribers. FireJobs is an information platform — we are not an employer and are not party to any employment relationship between applicants and fire departments.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account on FireJobs. By using our service, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the service.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current registration information
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at help [at] firejobs [dot] com
• Not share your account credentials with others
• Not create more than one account per person

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Free trial:

New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. Your payment method will be charged at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends. Canceling during the trial will not result in any charge.

Billing:

Subscription fees are billed in advance — monthly subscriptions on a 30-day cycle, annual subscriptions once per year. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the applicable subscription fee on a recurring basis.

Cancellation:

You may cancel your subscription at any time through Dashboard → Settings → Billing, or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to paid features until that date. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods.

Refunds:

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. Exceptions may be made at our sole discretion for documented technical failures that prevented access to the service. Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the charge to help [at] firejobs [dot] com.

Price changes:

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing. We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice of price increases via email. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

6. Job Listings

Job listings on FireJobs are provided for informational purposes only. While we work to keep listings accurate and current, we make no guarantee regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or availability of any position listed. You are responsible for independently verifying listing details before applying.

FireJobs is not responsible for the hiring practices, decisions, or communications of any fire department or employer listed on the platform. Any employment relationship is solely between you and the hiring department.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the platform without written permission
• Use automated bots or scripts to access the service in a way that degrades performance
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or its underlying systems
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organization
• Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or any other malicious code
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service
• Resell or sublicense access to the service without our written consent

8. Intellectual Property

All content on FireJobs — including the site design, logo, text, graphics, and software — is owned by or licensed to FireJobs and is protected by US and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

Individual job listing content is provided by or sourced from public fire department postings. FireJobs does not claim ownership of third-party listing content.

9. Disclaimers

FireJobs is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

FireJobs does not guarantee employment outcomes. Use of this platform does not improve, guarantee, or affect your chances of being hired by any fire department.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FireJobs and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising from your use of or inability to use the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to FireJobs in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FireJobs and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which FireJobs operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property or confidentiality violations.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the service at our discretion, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitation of liability.
