Assistant Fire Chief of Operations

The Assistant Chief of Operations protects life and property by providing leadership at both emergency and non-emergency fire department activities. Functions as the Operations Officer and Health and Safety Officer, plans day-to-day operations, leads the fire training program, and oversees health, safety and risk management. Assumes operational responsibilities in the absence of the Fire Chief.

Requirements: Minimum 5 years fire service experience, minimum 3 years as fire officer with fire ground command and EMS experience, Associates degree in fire science or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred), Fire Officer I certification (within 2 years), Fire Inspector I certification (within 2 years), Firefighter II certification, Hazardous Materials Operations Level certification, Fire Instructor I and/or EMS Instructor

Salary: $83,000 to $103,000 depending on qualifications
