Job Description
Full-time firefighter position with the Jacksonville Fire Department. Candidates are hired through a competitive process including written examination, physical ability test (CPAT), and oral interview. New application process starting early 2027.
Requirements: Residency within 30 mile radius of main fire station, pass physical and mental examination, valid driver's license, pass background investigation. Preference points awarded for military service, fire-related degree, paramedic or EMT-B certification, or prior firefighting employment.
Salary: $66,473.63 (2027)
