Volunteer Firefighter Internship

Volunteer firefighter internship for individuals interested in starting a career in firefighting. Candidates work alongside full-time and part-time firefighters responding to calls, operating apparatus, and providing fire suppression, rescue and life safety services. Fire District provides job training, education and certifications.

Requirements: Minimum 18 years old, good physical condition, pass medical physical and physical agility evaluation, pass initial and random drug and alcohol screenings, no felony or serious misdemeanor conviction, committed to minimum three hours training per week at fire station, 3 letters of recommendation (one from active service firefighter), resident of Minooka Fire Protection District, nearby Channahon or Shorewood (approval required for Channahon/Shorewood residents)
