Volunteer Firefighter-Internship

Minooka Fire Protection District seeks men and women interested in becoming career firefighters. Volunteers work alongside on-duty firefighters responding to calls, operating apparatus, providing fire suppression, rescue, and life safety services. The district provides job training, education, and certifications. Minimum 3 hours per week training commitment required.

Requirements: Minimum 18 years old, good physical condition, pass medical physical and physical agility evaluation, pass drug and alcohol screenings, no felony or serious misdemeanor conviction, resident of Minooka Fire Protection District or nearby Channahon/Shorewood (with approval), 3 letters of recommendation (one from active service firefighter), minimum 3 hours per week training commitment
