Entry Level Firefighter

The City of Houma Fire Department seeks highly motivated individuals to serve the community with integrity and courage, protecting the lives and property of citizens. Firefighters' starting pay is $31,933.20 per year, with additional state supplemental pay ($600/month) after 1 year and Firefighter I certification. Operates on a 24/48 schedule (1 day on, 2 days off).

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, at least 18 years old, valid Louisiana driver's license, pass Civil Service Entrance Exam (score 75 or above), pass Firefighter Recruit training program (NFPA 1001 standard), pass background check, physical, psychological screening, and drug screening

Salary: $31,933.20 per year
