On-Call Firefighter

Under the direction of the Fire Chief or designee, controls and extinguishes fires, protects life and property, and maintains equipment. This is a paid on-call position with the Thomas Township Fire Department. Requires completion of Michigan Firefighter Training Council certification (Firefighter I & II) and Emergency Medical Responder Training within 24 months of employment.

Requirements: Valid Michigan driver's license, valid driver's license with good driving record, physically able to perform firefighter duties, pass background check, pass agility test, pass physical exam and drug screen, age 18+, high school diploma or GED, clean-shaven (no facial hair interfering with respiratory seals), able to speak/read/write/understand English, mechanical aptitude, independent reliable transportation to station, workable phone, team player, self-motivated, able to work under pressure
