Job Description
Open competitive civil service examination to fill firefighter position(s) in Temple Fire and Rescue. Written exam on September 12, 2026, followed by physical agility assessment for those scoring 70% or higher. Successful candidates proceed through background investigation, physical examination, and polygraph testing.
Requirements: US citizen, age 18-35 at time of eligibility certification, no felony convictions, good character, high school diploma or GED, valid Texas Driver's License, fluent English (read/write/speak), TCFP firefighter licensing requirements and Texas DHS EMT/Paramedic licensing requirements
Salary: Cadet $29.3643 hourly (2080-hour schedule = $61,077 / annually); Certified Probationary Firefighter $23.3635 hourly (2912-hour schedule = $68,034 / annually)
